About Me

My photo
I love finding new music and sharing it with my friends. So when told to make a blog for a class, I decided I would share new music with everyone. I'm currently a student at Endicott College, majoring in Internet studies. I hope you guys enjoy reading my opinions on certain music, and I hope I can help you expand your music collection.

Bring Los To Endicott?

Recently I got invited to join a Facebook event called "Bring Los To Endicott", so I decided to investigate and see if I really want Los at Endicott.  I do.  This guys pretty good and he's got a really energetic kind of flow that would probably be pretty good to see live.  Not to mention he's not too famous so it'd probably be a cheap concert.  But really, I had to look him up on datpiff and he has a decent collection of mixtapes, the latest being The Louis Vuitton Gift Pack which I was definitely a fan of.  He went in on a lot of catchy and popular instrumentals, but it did seem like he needed a little bit more originality.  I'm not saying his sound isn't unique, I just wanna hear a couple more original beats.  That's not to say that his remakes of Gucci Gucci6 Foot 7 Foot, and I'm On One aren't absolutely dope, because they are.  I could be wrong though, maybe his remakes are so good that nobody minds the lack of original beats (because I barely mind and it wouldn't stop me from buying a ticket), I'd love to know what you guys think about him, so feel free to leave some comments below.

Thumbs Up For Mac Miller

Alright guys, its time to get "Most Dope", in the spirit of the upcoming concert at Endicott (which I just bought my ticket for and I'm pretty pumped about).  In case you haven't caught on yet I'm talking about Mac Miller.  This kid's dropping a lot of music in the coming months, with his album Blue Slide Park (cover art above) coming out on November 8th, and a mixtape called 92 Til Infinity being released sometime before the album.  This guy is only 19 years old. Seriously? Mac launched his Best Day Ever mixtape and crashed the servers on datpiff.com and I'm sure 92 Til Infinity won't be any different.  He's young enough to be a sophomore at all the schools he's touring, but instead he's blowing the doors off of them with "Most Dope" live music.  Anyway, you've read enough from me..here's a couple of songs from his new projects...

Face The Facts, 92 Til Infinity

And now a bonus song, by Casey Veggies featuring Mac Miller called Can I Live Free Casey Veggies is an opening act for the Mac Miler and I would love to hear this song live.  Expect a Casey Veggies post in the near future, as I get more and more excited about this concert.

Aer-ing It Out

So here I am, three posts in, and this is the second artist I've talked about from the Beantown area.  This next duo is called Aer and now you understand the bad pun in my post title. Aer has a light kind of sound, or at least thats how I see them.  Then, out of nowhere BAM a total banger when they go in remixing Levels, by Avicii, with their song, Shot Clock...check it out

Xaphoon You're Crazy

If you've ever heard a song by Chiddy Bang then you know that Xaphoon Jones is just sick.  While the group is named after record breaking rapper, Chiddy Bang, they would be nowhere without Xaphoon.  Chiddy Bang as a duo definitely ranks high on my list of up-and-comers, but that's a post for another time.  This post is for me to hit you guys with some of my favorite Xaphoon Jones mixes, because I feel like he doesn't get nearly enough credit.  That being said, here's a few of my favorites...

Kicking it off with a bang(er)

So I might be new to blogging, but I'm definitely not new to good music, and it's been a while since I've heard some really good hip hop.  This first post is about a Boston boy who could definitely quench my thirst for a dope sound.  Now I'm definitely not talking about some stupid, trendy Sammy Adams mixtape..I wouldnt waste my time or yours. I've never been a real fan of his and you probably won't see any of his songs on this blog anytime soon. I'm talking about a dude with an old, Big-L kind of sound by the name of Relo.  Relo isn't too well known and this mixtape, All For Compliments is his debut mixtape and I'd say he's getting off to a good start.  I'll give the Datpiff link to the mixtape here: http://www.datpiff.com/Relo-All-For-Compliments-mixtape.246336.html  and a youtube link for one of my favorite songs, Invincible.  So go download the tape and play it for your friends, hopefully you like it as much as I do.
